Journal 1 - Area (Milan, Italy)
This journal is published in Milan, Italy. It consists of many different series. I picked one of the series - Italian Hope, as it captured me with it's stunning abstract cover. And also i'm fascinated about italian architectural design, history, and religious belief/myths.
Unfortunately, this particular journal is in italian so i could not understand the journal. However, there are a lot of pictures of buildings and a few pages translated in english. This journal study the newest architecture proposal or buildings in italy and how architects preserve historical buildings. It also showcase the newest style and building era designed by famous italian architects.
One of the article that captured my attention is about the new Milan expo 2015. It's a new project where famous architects -Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki and Daniel Libeskind are planning to redesign the town of Milan. Their main purpose is to create functional building to accomodate people yet also recreational places for people to enjoy. The plan for this multipurpose complex is strongly emblematic, with its three futuristic towers: at the crossroads of important routes in the trade fair district, it will offer a spatial landmark and an important attraction due to the daring, highly expressive nature of the architecture.

New Beginning
I decided to further develop my first idea. To achieve this, i decided to read through my journals again and find my inspiration from the journals.
After reading my journals, i've decided to make a start on my office design. In my journal 1, im quite influenced by the architecture in italy, milan. It amazed me how such historical town can have a whole new sense of architecture style- Futurism.
The breakthrough of this unique style of work inspired me and thus my office will be based on futuristic, modern, edgy design.
I tried playing around and manipulate the shapes - twisting , shear, rotating. Later, i got the basic shape of my office.
Once i got the basic shape of my office, I decided to look in depth of my 2nd journal -Havard Design Magazine. Havard Design Magazine Harvard Design Magazine is published by the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and typically explores issues and realities significant to the built environment and the quality of life connected to it. I decided to focus on the building surrounding of Milan and the quality of life in Milan.
While during my research, i came across this article of Expo 2015 in Milan, where Famous Architects -Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki and Daniel Libeskind are planning to redesign the town of Milan. Their main goal is to provide places to accommodate up to 5000 people, yet the complex will include not only office space in the towers but apartments and a park with recreational and cultural facilities for young and old alike. The plan for this multipurpose complex is strongly emblematic, with its three futuristic towers: at the crossroads of important routes in the trade fair district, it will offer a spatial landmark and an important attraction due to the daring, highly expressive nature of the architecture. Also, their designs incorporate the quality of living between us human and nature.
Hence, my office will reflect the idea behind this new change of Milan. It will portray the future of Milan in a fast pace, dynamic kinda way due to our busy hectic life.
I decided to create a walkway on the 2nd floor of my office to exhibit the work done in Milan. The past present and future of Milan. This walkway will be accompany by giant futuristic cube walls around it with patterns and moving images to heighten the effect of a futuristic, modern setting.
At the bottom floor of my office, i want to incorporate the idea of nature. Therefore, i used moving texture to create a smokey cloud effect and a layer or grass texture at the bottom. This creates a serene atmosphere and also dramatic entrance for my office. The teleportation is an image of a ancient milano arc with images of the new milan inside it. This play on the idea of walking into the future.
At the far end of the 2nd floor is my main office where i showcase my journals and blog. This cretes curiousity while also allows the viewer to explore around in my office.
On the right hand side of my office 1st floor, there's another area known as the planning section. When u touch one of the blueprint on the wall, you'll be teleport into "The Planning Room". The Planning Room is a large meeting room where it allows people to chat and discuss their work, or in this case for the architects. I decided to leave this office space disclosed so people can interact with nature while being in an office space. It has great view of the surrounding and large space to work in.
The main influence in this room comes from my 3rd journal which is "Progress in Planning". I've added blueprints and several documents on the table to show that planning is in progress. Also a laptop with my blog link to it to allow easy access to my blog and journals.
